How to save £1,378 in a year – Rachel and Heaven’s Top Tip

We asked our members their best tips on how to save.

“By the end of the year you will have £1,378” – Rachel

When it comes to saving money, I’m sure we’re all thinking a similar thing – it’s hard! Well, it really doesn’t have to be. Saving can become a regular habit.  Just like going to work,  you’ll find yourself not really having to think about it.

To show just how simple saving can be, we asked our members for their best money-saving tips in January. The response was incredible. After carefully looking at all of your cost-cutting suggestions, we had to pick one eventual winner. Congratulations to Rachel and her daughter, Heaven, for sharing how they used the envelope challenge.

Now I know what most of us are thinking – £52 a week is a lot. The beauty of this challenge is that it can be adapted and shaped however is most suitable and achievable for you. You could have 26 envelopes and pick one envelope every 2 weeks. It really is up to you how you partake in this challenge.

After completing the year-long saving challenge, with 52 envelopes, you will have saved £1,378 by the end of the 52 weeks; how amazing is that!

“It helped me a lot towards Christmas”

The envelope challenge may present some weeks where saving may be challenging. Some weeks will feel like you’re saving without even realising it. Thank you to Rachel and Heaven for giving us their experience with the envelope challenge. Thank you to everyone who shared their top tip for saving their spends.
